NYC Marathon Training – Week Three

20 Aug

Monday – 4 miles easy, 8:47 pace. Felt very “blah” on this run.

Tuesday – 10 miles tempo, 7:46 pace. 1 mile warm up, 8 miles at tempo: 7:40, 7:14, 7:30, 7:15, 7:10, 7:09, 7:15, 7:04, 1 mile cool down. Felt VERY proud of myself after this run!!

Wednesday – 4 miles easy, pre-TRX run. 8:48 pace. Then did TRX interval training for 50 minutes.

Thursday – 9 miles with tempo, 8:46 pace. 2 mile warm up, 2 at tempo: 7:30, 7:20, 2 miles easy, 1 mile tempo (should’ve been 2): 7:30, 2 miles cool down. I try not to make excuses, but I have some for this workout…here they are: It was HOT, I was TIRED, my legs are SORE, the route was HILLY.

Friday – OFF (much needed!!!)

Saturday – 14 miles easy run with Stacy and Emily, 8:55 pace. The weather was AMAZING!

Sunday – 4 miles easy, 9:48 pace. Lovely Sunday run.

Overall this was a hard week of training. I had a very stressful work week, and did not get near enough sleep. I was also struggling with dead legs and humidity on some of the important runs.

Jumping for joy – another week of training complete!!!!

    hey girl, love your blog! i just told my hubs the other day i wanna do the NYC marathon. get it girl 🙂 also, after stalking your pics, you don’t look bad after your races. that my friend is not fair. i always look and smell HORRENDOUS!! thanks for inspiring 🙂
