Week six was a little tough for me. I was so worn out from my California travels, and a crazy week of work. I felt like I got completely out of my “groove” and lost my motivation. It was really hard to get myself out of bed to run in the morning, which is probably why I slept through two runs!!!!
So anyway….here was week 6.
Monday – Off day. I laid on a couch ALL day watching bad reality TV, then had hellish travels home from California.
Tuesday – Off day again, for no good reason……just because I was too lazy to get out there and do something.
Wednesday – 4 miles at 9:30 pace. Such a HOT and HUMID run!!! Followed by an awesome TRX class.
Thursday – 6 miles at 9:00 pace. Should’ve done 8 miles, but stopped at 6.
Friday – Off day, simply because I couldn’t get my ass out of bed in the morning.
Saturday – 4 miles at 10 minute pace to warm up for a 10k. Then ran 6.2 miles at 6:50 pace!!! Won the 10k for women, and placed second overall!!!
Sunday – 4 miles at 10 minute pace. Lovely run with Ramsey, we were both pretty sore from our race on Saturday!!
Wishing you all a great week ahead…and me a better week of training ahead!!!!
xo,
Ali
Thank you for just laying it out there! Sometimes I feel so LAZY, but I’m old enough to know when to rest or push it. With just starting y second week of school (kindergarten!) I actually went to bed at 8:00 last night! I had planned a run after work, but the wind was howling and frost was predicted so I di a quick harvest of our zillion basil plants for pesto…had dinner and went to bed. Some days you just have to take care of yourself or it’ll backfire! I’m on the countdown to the Portland Marathon, and feel nowhere near ready. It’s for charity, so I’ll walk it if I have to!
Karen, we all have our weeks when we are just not feeling it – and that is ok! We just have to remember that and not be too hard on ourselves 🙂 Good luck with your training!!!!
Congrats on your 10K over the weekend! Great time.
